As way back as I can remember
we always had oat porridge for breakfast and my dear old mother
would always say eat your porridge for energy. She
was so right as oat porridge is good to absorb slowly into
the blood stream and have a low glycemic index to balance
the blood sugar levels so it is good for people with diabettes
to have them each morning.

OATS FOR
NATURAL REMEDIES
The
dried seeds and fresh plant may be useful for lowered mood
which is associated with anxiety and nervous exhaustion especially
during menopause. Oats also can aid in the withdrawal from
tobacco and drug addiction.
Oats are a good source of vitamins B and vitamins E. Oats
are mainly grown as a cereal crop but can be used for many
things such as antidepressant, emollient, nutrition and tonic.
The seeds have a mild antidepressant activity.
