NATURAL
REMEDIES FOR ACIDITY
My husband and I both
suffer from to much acid in the stomach so
we have the top of our bed on bricks so we sleep on a
slight slant so the acid does not come up into our throats.
Acidity is caused by excess secretion of acid by the gastric
glands in the stomach. You have to have a normal level
of acid in the stomach for normal digestion of the complex
food. When you do not have enough acid the food is not digested
properly and sometimes there is excess secretion and that
is known as acidity. I would like to share with you some of
the causes of acidity which is refined and fibreless food
this is one of the main causes but then so is stress, smoking
and to much alcohol weakens the nervous system and as a result
the mucus membrane and the stomach lining does not function
properly, high intake of spicy food, overeating and eating
to fast also causes acidity.

REMEDIES FOR ACIDITY
Put a clove on your tongue and suck it and you will get relief
from acidity.
Drinking milk or using milk products will give relief from
acidity.
Taking fresh mint juice daily will provide relief from acidity.
Another good remedy for acidity is to make a mixture of 2
teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and 2 teaspoons of honey
mixed together in a glass of water and taken before meals.
In a saucepan add a glass of water then put in some cumin
seeds and boil it. Pour into a cup and drink it while you
are having your meal. This will reduce the chance of acidity
and is a good natural remedy.
Fruits such as watermelon, banana and cucumber also reduce
acidity.
Drinking herbal tea such as spearmint and liquorice instead
of normal tea, coffee and aerated drinks is also beneficial
for acidity.
I always drink a big glass of water in the morning to help
control the acidity.
Always eat your last meal of the day at least two hours before
you go to bed so your food has time to settle down.

THINGS TO AVOID FOR ACIDITY
There are many things
that cause acidity so you should try not to
use these items and here is just a few I am putting onto a
list for people who suffer from acidity like my husband and
I.
You should try to avoid spicy foods, fried foods and pickles
as this will help not to get acidity.
You should not eat unripen foods with high pectin.
You should avoid asprin as that is not good for acidity.
Also if you suffer from acidity avoid radishes and onions
in your salads.
