NATURAL
GARDEN PESTICIDES
There are many different
natural things you can use to keep bugs out of your gardens
and of course there are quite a lot of different bugs from
slugs, aphids to nematodes. I would like to share with you
a few of the things my husband uses in our gardens. Getting
rid of bugs in your garden is just as important as watering
your garden especially if you want really good crops of vegetables.
There is nothing better than picking your own vegetables from
your garden that you have grown and looked after and its even
better because you have not used any poisons on it.
Getting Rid of Slugs - You
can sprinkle salt directly on them to get rid of them or you
can put a bowl of beer down and they will crawl in and die.
Another way is to lay copper wire sheeting around the base
of your plants and it stops slugs.
Getting
Rid of Nematodes - To
help repel nematodes from your gardens plant marigolds all
through your gardens it even makes your garden very colourful
as well as repels the nematodes.
Getting Rid of Gnats, Flies and Mosquitoes - We plant
plenty of basil around our front and back doors and we have
a lot in pots around our patio where we sit.
Water them well before you
go out to enhance the aroma and the other thing you can do
is grow a few smaller ones in small pots and put them on your
windowsills inside to keep them out of your house.
Getting Rid of Aphids - Repel
aphids by planting nasturtiums they also make your vegetable
patch very colourful.
